Blur front to back play

I picked up a Blur from Wally World about a month ago, and I'm starting to notice some front to back play after about 100 or so opening/closings.

Has anyone else had this issue early on? It's bad enough that if I were to shake it front to back that I can hear a rattle.

Also, if it's nothing I can fix on my own, would this be something Kershaw would typically take care of?

Kershaw will take care of it. The rattle is the torsion bar moving around inside of milled out area of the handle. A little grease fixes that problem if you're a "do it yourself" kind of person. I've taken Blurs apart many times. You can likely fix the blade blade by taking it apart and reassembling as well. If not....sending it back to Kershaw for repair is always an option. If you decide to take it apart....here is a link to some guides that will help considerably.

Yell if you need any help.

i had this same issue, that also resulted in a lock up problem. i love my blur, but i couldn't continue using it after i very lightly taped the spine of it and it closed on my hand. mine also got the rattling, good to know a little grease will fix it. ended up giving it to my buddy and highly suggesting he send it into kershaw. i would have, but i was shipping in 1 week and their turnaround is great, but not that great! but all in all, i would suggest sending it back. they will fix it, sharpen it, and it will come back to you better than ever!

Quick one, were you able to take knives with you when you were deployed or did you have to have family UPS it to you?

Here in Korea, i was able to bring a few. i didn't want to seem like "one of those guys" and bring all of 'em. but i brought a ZT 0650, Kershaw Storm II, OD-1, and ESEE 4. When i went through customs, I had to tell them i had some. They wanted to see them, so I pulled the box out and they asked if the knives were issued. I said "uh...sure. Yeah, actually they are. all of them." The guy said cool and let me go. ;)
I don't think knives are a big problem as long as they are under 4 inches. Then they start considering them a weapon. I have to keep my ESEE in the arms room because it is a fixed blade. but i have since gotten a Kershaw R.A.M shipped to me, waiting on my Mom to send my my Rogue, and I have a ZT 0551 on its way!
