Blur Or Cyclone...

Hmmm...a choice that I will be making tomorrow morning.

There is a good case to be made for getting a Cyclone as soon as convenient, due to the fact that they are not in the 2009 lineup and may start to become more difficult to find. That said, as I have smaller hands, I find that the Blur fits me quite nicely.

I will probably just go for a couple of Blurs.

Igot the mini-cyclone for edc just the right size not too big not too small . Love the on off feature.Only problem is I want a grey handle one now.

Tough question.

Are we referring to the Blur is S30V, SG2 or S60V? Is this the Mini Cyclone in TIZDP?

Tough question.

I think the deals that are out there now on the Cyclones are very hard to beat, and have personally stocked up on a few of the Mini's. I gave one away this past weekend, and the recipient was impressed.

The Blur is an excellent value too. I'm looking forward to new steel when released, and figure I'll buy a few of them, too.

Right now tho, the nod has to go the the Cyclone and Mini Cyclone based on available price alone. A Ken Onion design, SpeedSafe, 13C26 Steel, and Kershaw's reputation and warranty for $ 60 or so for both? Cyclones for the win, hands down.

Wow, why are they so cheap at SMKW?

Just because they are going to be discontinued?

Looks like the black and serrated versions are the same old price.

Tripton, I am guessing this was a run done by Kershaw just for them. When I spoke with SMKW last week, they told me they had over 300 of each model in stock.

Just a guess, but I've seen this happen before with other retailers/models.

Interesting.

Still would be the same quality and everything?

Sounds like Ill be trying out the cyclone...

Feeling a little lost around here without my s30v Blur. Not sure where it is, but I am thinking I haven't found all of my ferrets' stashes...

I had 2 with me this past weekend. Gave one away, and used the other. Same high quality Kershaw product I've come to know and love!

For $ 25 bucks, it's hard to beat the MC! The full sized Cyclone is a good sized knife, and still under $ 30!

Like I said, for right at $ 60 you get both!

After deciding between the Blur and Cyclone(s), I ended up going with a Mini Cyclone from SMKW. The final price was $33.73 shipped, how can you beat that? :)

I have two ti/zdp mini cyclones and love them. While the blur look really nice, I am not really a fan of recurve blades. And I like the on/off feature of the speedsafe on the cyclone as well.

the half serrated have now been lowered to the same price...hey the Ener G II has been reduced too , so is it being discontinued?

No the ENER-G is not dico'd, but we do have a running change on the scales (from gray w/inserts, to just black textured). There may be some deals on the originals.

Not sure if it's being discontinued, but Thomas did say that eventually the ENER-G's would have the black G-10 handle found on the LE's with the satin hollow grind blade on the standard ENER-G.

EDIT: Slow again!

IMO thumbstuds and AO are a terrible combination. So my vote goes to the Cyclone.
