BLUR OR HEAT which should be my next?

I'm in the market for another assisted opener. I already have the Kershaw Blackout and Leek, and enjoy them both. I have read good things about both the Blur and Heat, and I'm in a quandry as to which will be my next purchase.

In doing a search, the Dominator caught my interest as well.

From what I've read so far, the Heat seems to be the "faster" opening of the two,......help me out here,....which one would you recommend?

Thanks,

I don't know about the others, but I carried the blur with me to sunny Iraq, used it every day and passed it to another soldier when I left; who is still carrying it on thier 2nd tour there.

Really great knife:thumbup:

I vote for the Heat ( I have two)...the blur is good, but the heat is faster and fits the hands better......the dominator is what the heat was copied after and is the same but made of lesser materials...as a user get the heat....

I'm leaning toward the Heat; I really like the idea of the flipper, which is not present on the Blur. While the blade on my Blackout locks into place with a reassuring "whack", I'd like a little more opening blade speed, which I've heard is chararistic of the Heat.

It's reassuring to note that nothing but positive comments have described BOTH knives. That's why I'm having trouble deciding between the two. I'm unfamiliar with the quality of Camillus, having never owned one, but have been extremely pleased with my Kershaws to date!

I'll be placing my order late this evening or early tomorrow morning, so I'll continue to follow the responses which will assist in the decision making process.

Thanks,

My vote goes for the heat definiteley. My friend has the Blur and after some hard use (not abusive but hard) the knife wont even lock up for him. It fails the slightest spine whack test on my boot and will close on your fingers if you try to stab anything. Was a nice knife while the lock held up, but it didnt seem to hold for that long as he only had the knife a couple of weeks before it stopped locking up.

I vote none of the above. My favorite Kershaw is the Boa. It's a bit more expensive than the Blur, but by all accounts a great knife.

The boa is cool, but I say give a spec bump or blue/green bump a shot. Aim high. Also, the avalanche is a good price compromise.

I just bought a heat with black tanto blade, I love it. Took the pocket clip off and it fits the hand perfect.

I'm with the Heat, One of my best most satisfying knife purchases. Love the flipper. I have never used the thumb stud. Like the flat grind. Like the blade shape. Love the large recessed tab on the lock. Love the handle shape. Very comfortable for a worker. Love the price! I got mine for under $40 shipped. Kudos to DR on this one. He covered all the bases. on a scale of 100 I would give this knife 98, make the blade from ats34 or 154cm and it's a 100!

So I guess it's safe to say you perfer the Heat.

I appreciate the input everyone; my new Heat will be ordered today! Thanks for helping me decide on my next purchase!

PS I just ordered two, if it's as good as you have indicated, I'll give one to my son as well...

I have both and like them both. But if I had to pick one over the other I would say go with the Heat.
