This is my first post here and I want to thank everyone for the wealth of knowledge here. I have owned kershaws for a long time. A while back I lost my blur so I decided to look around and see what was new out. I love the speed safe action on the onion knives . So I narrowed It down to another blur or the tanto bladed zt400. First question is there going to be that big of a quality difference? I have thought about the zt 200 also. On the next note where would you recomend buying from? I looked at la police gear and would like the forums feed back on there service. Thanks ahead of time for your input.

I had an 0400 for a while. I didn't really carry it much. To me it was to big to EDC and my blur cut everything I need to cut better than the o400. ZT are well made tanks, but for me personally, I don't do the kind of hardcore cutting to need the ZT. The blade grind was too obtuse to be a crazy good slicer, but did hold an edge well. I believe for hard use it would have been great, but in general I don't use one that hard. On the other hand, after I traded my 0400 I bought a Spec Bump that did a great job filling the gap between the Blur and the 0400.

I still stand with my original assessment...I like some of the features on the ZT0400 that I wish the Blur had...the Blur is still one of my top 3 knives of all time, the 0400 is just a bit different but still similar in many regards.

I don't know about the zt400, but I do know that the Blur is no trashy knife. It's a beast, and last a long time too. It's a tough blade, and I recently bought an OD. Green Blur. It'll take any average cutting job you have. And as for where to buy one...I got mine at the Kershaw sale, but if you don't want to do that, just go to www.kershawknives.com. My brother got a blade there, and it's a pretty quick shipping.
