Blur Question.........?

Hey everybody,

Recently I was looking around and had the urge to get myself a blur. I got the standard issue black blur with partial serrations.

I noticed that when I got it, the clam pack said,"440A." Now I know that the chage to sandvik happened years ago now, but I was wondering if anyone knew if that is just a typo on the pack, because the knife says Nov 08, which means it should be the 13C26 Sandvik, right?

In light of things, I really like the ergos of the blur

It's been a long time since I've carried one and all I can says is WOW. This thing pushed my sebbie and SMF out of my main pocket (right front) and it's very slim and comfortable to use.

I'm really hoping that it is sandvik and it's just the clam pack that was off. I look forward to any and all replies to this. Thanks in advance, J.

I would think the "born on" date would be determinative.

Most Kershaw's have the Steel type on the blade as well

Only the more exotic steels. And sometimes they were wrong!

It's good to know that I have a better blade steel than I originally thought

Of course there was nothing wrong with kershaws 440A from the start, but 13C26 is an "upgrade"

Of course there is nothing wrong with 440A accept it's 440A.

Kershaw's 440A tends to be a cut above your average 440A (or "440 stainless"). Historically, their 440A heat-treat is considered to be spot-on.
