Hi Kershaw guys, my new s30v blur is failing the spine-wack test. even against the palm of my hand. I would rather try and fix this myself if I can. is there a trick I can try? thanks

I say send it in.... there really isn't a quick fix. If you MUST keep it in hand you can request a new lock side liner.

Is it broken in and seating properly? Is there any dirt, or debris in there preventing it from moving over all the way. Check this stuff first before you write it off and get a new one. Joe

I agree. Definitely give it a close inspection. Even something as soft as pocket lint can build up enough to cause problems like this. If you give it a good cleaning and lube job, and it still won't lock up solid, then I'd say send it in for a tuneup.

it is a new one lol

I can clearly see the locking surface when it's closed and it's clean, plus the bar looks to be engaging the surface well. I cleaned it out just for shiggles and nothing changed. think I'll have to just send it back

Mine didn't seat properly on my Tactical Blur. I tore it down and filed the contact portion of the lock and tang with my Sharpmaker rods. Locks up good and tight now. :)

I did this to my tanto groove; I just wanted to experiment and see what happened--it worked great, and I have a groove that flips and locks up like the custom, it is just so fast.

As spiral said, if you're comfortable tinkering with it ask for a lock side liner. Swap the current one out, and see if that makes a difference. If so, you're good to go. If not, I'd send it in.
