Got my first cut from one of my knives earlier today. It didn't take long, bought my first knife three weeks ago. As the title says, It was my Blur. I closed it to fast and wasn't paying attention. Put a nice slice in the tip of my thumb. I'm sure I need stitches, But i'll pass. Won't be the first time. Wish I could post some pictures but I lost my camera.

Reminds me of going to my first knife show a long time ago and in walking thru, I had to ask my buddy "What's with all the Band-Aids sitting everywhere at these tables?" Within 15 minutes I knew why...:p

My first nick was from a Tenacious...same thing you did...hahaha...congrats on popping your cut cherry! :p

The popular belief among knifeknuts is that a knife is not truly yours until you cut yourself with it.....NOW that Blur is YOUR knife.

Wait till you get into sharpening. With mirrored edges, you'll start getting cuts without even noticing them.

I think all of my knives except my most recent one have cut me at some time or another...

One of my friends was playing with my recently sharpened SG2 blur. He looked down when he felt "wet hands." Had to superglue that one 3 times.

tsujigiri, you're definitely right. my friend, who likes to get his knives crazy sharp, i borrowed one of his knives and cut myself just by testing to see if there was a burr on the edge. he uses a paper wheel.

I've got bonds with several of my knives but I have a real special bond with my ZDP-189 Shallot. I ran it all the way through my finger and bounced it off the bone on the way through. Funny thing is it never really hurt until the swelling made the bandaid too tight.

My first cut was when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I had just bought my first knife at a garage sale and was riding home on my bike. Of course I was opening and closing while riding. I sliced the end of one of my fingers cutting up the finger nail. I don't remember having that knife ever again. I'm sure I didn't tell my parents. I must have hid the knife.
