Having not seen a Blur in person, as there is no place around me that sells them, I have a couple of questions. How robust, or stout are these knives? Are they near, or nearing the ZT 350's level of stout, or durability? Please tell me a little about the 14C28N steel. What other steels is it similar to? I like the look, but would like a little input, before I throw down on a couple. Thanks guys.

They're not beefy/stout as in ZT beefy/stout, but they can definitely hold their own. I owned a Blem and didn't have any problems whatsoever and you'll find the same with a number of other people on here.

They're very much like a mini 0350. Aluminum scales and steel sub-liner lock vs. G10 and steel liners.

That is an amazing testament to their durability!! How is the liner lock? I have a ZT0200, it is is stout as heck. Again, I don't expect it to be on par, but is the liner pretty beefy?

Now I am really getting close, to getting these. It's hard not to like that kind of endorsement.

I have carried a Blur for the past few years. Reliable and durable without an entire pocket full of knife. My O.D. Blur rides perfectly. It isn't D2 durable, but it does take a lot of use before it needs stropped. I will buy another.

I just watched a Youtube vid, from the Lastboyscout. He shows 1 Blur that the lock fails very easy, and one almost failing. This kinda concerns me.

Take that with a grain of salt please. Take anything that guy says with a grain of salt. He likes to talk about stuff that he doesn't necessarily know all of the information to.

Did you read through the link I posted earlier?

That's been discussed here before. We have a ton of blur users here as well as big time collectors. We have not had trouble that kind of trouble, and if we ever did its not like kershaw doesn't have the best customer service or anything should that need arise.;) I use one as a work knife, hasn't failed me yet. I have lightly batoned bushes and small branches with it too. Late boy scout, I'm going to quote my favorite movie, "what about that little guy?" "This little guy?" "I wouldn't worry about this little guy".

Yes Knotty, I read that review as well. I guess you might be able to see how it could concern you though. I'll probably still pick one up.

I saw that video. I checked all my Blurs. (7) And not one of mine had a issue. I love the Blurs. My favorite Kershaw. I highly recommend them. Is it possible to get one with a problem? Of course. But Kershaw will take care of it. They are famous for going above and beyond. I bought my first one without ever seeing one in person. Glad I did. And I know you would be too. If you can, get one of them with the s30v. Fantastic steel. But even the standard steel will get the job done. Check out Kershawguy's website. He even has blems at amazing prices. And he is a great guy who gives fantastic service.

The Blur's liner lock is plenty strong. Lock-up is beyond solid. I would totally recommend it. Here's a pic. I had to use a "silent cam" app cuz I'm at work. Please excuse the quality.

Crocket on youtube had one that he claimed was his favorite (as I recall). But one day he "spine whacked" it lightly, using the blade to tap something he was working on for his kid. The blade folded. He showed it on youtube, and sent it back to Kershaw. Kershaw replaced it (as I recall), and the new one did not exhibit the problem under the same usage, as shown by Crocket at the end of the video.
Bad knives will occasionally get through any company's QC. Kershaw is good to take care of their customers when one gets through.

I know that if you search around a bit here, you'll find a thread or two in which someone posted side-by-side pictures of a Blur and a 0350. Notably, it shows the thickness difference between the two. In general, every part of the Blur is a bit thinner than the corresponding part on the 0350 (blade stock is slightly thinner, liner is slightly thinner) and that adds up to the Blur being considerably thinner than the 0350 overall (also helps that the Blur's liner is embedded in the handle vs. the G10 and steel liners of the 0350). I've never had either of those knives so I can't speak to their relative "toughness" but I believe everyone's testimonies about both knives.

Here's a comparison of the thickness between the Blur and 0350. The Blur isn't as stout as the 0350, but it is still plenty strong. There are some more pics comparing the Blur and 0350 in this thread.
