I really love that color, but the weirdest thing I like about it is the word itself.

You know how there is something about some words that just grates on you? I have a friend from college who would shudder every time she heard the word "moist." Just hated the word.

Hearing the word blurple actually makes me laugh.
 
I've always liked the word boob/boobs.

I'm also not a fan of "moist". Lots of French words as well. Filet mingon translates to "little beef" or "young beef" something like that. Some words/phrases irk me a bit. It's a steak!

I have yet to meet a blurple model in person.

Somewhat translucent, but fairly dark. On the PM2 you can see the liner and internal metal parts, but you do kind of have to look closely or be in really bright light.
 
Filet Mignon literally translates "cute cut", cute as in delicate or fine. Isn't there some movie with a character doesn't like the word moist? Might have been a tv show. I don't want to be the one to say that the colour is actually called indigo.

Blerple has really caught on though. I wonder who came up with that word?

That's a good question, I'd be interested if anyone with a better memory than me can remember. I don't even remember when the first blurple-scaled model was released or what it was.

It's a good color with jeans & it looks good dirty. I like my blurple dirty.:eek:

I believe it originated on Spyderco's forum. I don't recall the specifics.

I too, think the word is kinda fun and funny. But the thing I like most about it is the color. It's stunning. I even bought a pair of take-off blurple scales, here on the forum from someone who had upgraded. I slapped 'em on my standard S30v PM2, just because I liked the color so much.

It is a funny sounding word, but man does it sound dumb lol. Like something a clown would say. Probably my favorite g10 color though.
I wish we would have went with indigo.

I agree. "Indigo" sounds much better, but it looks like the blurple train has already left the station. Sounds like indigestion after ODing on blue candy.

The color itself has grown on me and it's one of my favorites. :)

I can't speak to who came up with it, but I knew of it as a word because some body jewelry companies use blurple for a certain shade of anodized titanium that's half blue, half purple.

Spyderco's "blurple" G-10 should really just be called "indigo" but whatever it's called I like it on my Manix 2.

Hahaha , classic.

I've been on the fence about trying a blurple Spyderco. But I'm curious so I may give one a try.

I'd like orange G10 to make a comeback too.
