Hi guys,

This is a mundane post but I'm just super excited and wanted to share!

Got an Adamas today from a fellow forumite, tan handles (or coyote brown maybe). And it looks great! It's the first relatively expensive knife I've gotten in years. I usually don't spend over $50 and I haven't for about 6 or 7 years probably. But I finally had a little extra and this just looked cool and everyone who owns one here seems to love it.

I'm also hoping it can break my recent cycle of "back up blades". If I find a cool budget knife I like to get a couple, but this isn't a budget knife and I must. not. buy. an. extra... :p Even though I kinda want to... :p

Anyways not a review of course, just sharing my excitement. I haven't bought Benchmade since my Barrage (which, shameless plug, is for sale, please see it and others below and help a guy towards his next purchase :p) and this is cool. I haven't bought a knife like this since my Hossom Retribution folder ages and ages ago. Saw it in a magazine when I was a kid and couldn't afford one, but even with the small black and white pic, I wanted one and years later finally was able to get the Medium.

Anyways sorry for the semi-rant, I just haven't been this excited about a purchase in a long time and it feels good.

Thanks guys.

You should be excited. I was never a big fan of Benchmade knives in general, and only had two on my "must have" list: Nimravus and 300SN. However, after seeing so many positive comments about the 275 and starting to explore the world of hard-use folders, I bought one off the Exchange and couldn't be happier. For me, the sheath is a major factor, as I'm more likely to carry a knife in a sheath than in my pocket if wandering around in the woods.

Same here although I like the clip a lot too. But I like pouch folders a lot.

A bit embarrassing but I just sent a private message to someone else who I knew has one, asking about the sheath... can't figure out how to make it belt-carryable. :p I see the snap and the velcro but connecting the velcro seems way too weak so that can't be it.

Congrats, Lynx! It's definitely a tank of a knife, and I'm sure you'll get plenty of use out of her.

I held one at a Bass Pro a while back and it was thicker than Rosie O'Donnell!

Thanks man! I'm a thin guy of average height at best but also kind of large hands, long fingers and all that, so bigger thicker knives are really great for me.

(Still use cool small ones like the Tuff-Lite though).

Happy that you got yours in. I have a tan and a black; both could go to the woods, IMO.
Have fun; stay safe.

I'm pretty average myself, and also gravitate towards bigger knives. That's why I love ZTs haha.

Back on topic...where are the pics?! :p

Thanks Sonny!

Always good to hear from you and I am always interested in folders that accomplished woodsmen think are good enough for the woods. I live close to wooded areas myself but it's difficult for me to get around in the woods so I cannot go as often as I'd prefer.
