I hope you all don't mind taking a break from the new 42's but I was wondering a few things on the old Benchmade 44's with the tanto blades:

How long ago was this model made/produced? How rare/hard to find are they today?

Why is the blade made out of G-2?

Realistically how much would one expect to pay for this knife?

Lastly does any one have one for sale?
ha ha

Thanks

P.S. For the people that have asked I live north of Denver.

I saw these going for 170 new in box this last weekend, you can probaably do better though. Almost bought one just cause I cant get a 42 :-(

I have one that I paid $120.00 for two years ago. It's an "S" with about 50% of the blade serrated. I bought it at a local show and I knew that I was over paying for it at the time but they were discontinued and I wanted one. The tough part is that there was was a 45 there also and I now realize that I should have bought them both

The one thing I have to say about this knife is that it has the ability to scare the sheeple. I mean they jump back when I pull this baby out

I don't think I would sell mine. It's a knife that I carry and use and it's been sharpend so I doubt that anyone would offer enough to get my attention. But good luck finding one.

I bought a new-in-the-box 45S for $135 at a gun show here a couple of weeks ago. He had a couple of the Z-mack handled ones, I don't know their model number, for the same price. There was also a Harley-Davidson etched BM for sale.
