Hey all, I got a bit of a problematic situation. I have discovered that through giving a decent, but relatively light strike on the back of the blade, the axis lock on my 520 precidio fails:confused:...Now im not sure if BM would cover this kind of behavior, or if they would consider it abuse. I know that I have put one of my griptilians through much worse abuse by batoning through hardwood inch thick boards, without the blade loosening one freakin bit! So anyways I could use some input.

Unless you're trying to chop down a tree with the back of the blade, that's a defect. A functional axis lock is one of the strongest locks out there. And BM customer service tends to be good about this kind of thing.

You might give the lock area a good cleaning to remove any debris, then give it another try.

We just had this thread recently...

I agree with Nightman.

Mine failed too, but after I cleaned the lock area, no more fails. If yours still fail, then it's time to contact Benchmade.
