Hi,

I've been considering another < 3" bladed knife, and I can't decide whether to get a 555HG or another D4. I know the pros and cons of both, but I'd like to see a pic that compares the thicknesses of these two.

Thanks.

i dont have a picture, but the delica is just a tad thinner side to side, but the 555 actually has more overall blade, on the delica the sharpened portion doesnt start right away, the 555 it does

Sorry I don't the pics your looking for, but if you've already have a D4 then why not try a mini-grip. I just compared my mini-ritter to my Caly3 ZDP and the ritter is fatter by maybe 2/16's.

Very minimal difference in blade thickness, but the hollow grind does take away quite a bit more material.

Where it's most noticeable is in cutting performance :D

Of course, that's blade thickness. If you meant handle thickness, then the D4 is slightly more comfortable for back-pocket carry.

That's exactly the main reason I'm looking at another brand's knives right now. I like to see more edge packed into the blade.

What do you mean by the HG taking away more material? You mean that the edge is thinner?

Yeah, I meant mainly handle thickness. I carry mostly IWB, so I'm wondering just how much thicker the 555 is than the D4.

Thanks for the pics, of course.
