My EDC is currently a CS voyager which has been a good knife but I have had my eye on a BM mini grip for some time now. Can someone compare and contrast these two knives for me? I have never owned a BM and have not experienced the Axis lock - is this superior to the CS lock?

Thanks for any insight.

The CS Voyager is a good knife, have owned a small one for several years, the BM556 is an exceptional knife, far superior in fit, finnish, ergonomics and locking mechanism. The Axis lock is innovative, smooth, solid and fast to deploy with one hand. For the small difference in price, the BM556 gives you so much more.

I have both a Cold Steel PE Medium clip-point Voyager and a PE 556 Mini-Griptilian. The Voyager is in my wife's purse, but I won't let her touch the Mini-Grip.

Guess which one I like the best.:D.

Get the "Mini-Grip".

mini-grip

i don't like the voyager. it seems like a cheap vaquero.

apparently the hollow ground blade chips very easily

The Griptillian knives are awesome. The axis lock is very strong, and the opening is very smooth. The handles also fill my hands very nicely. I have a full size one, and am going to get my sister a Mini for her birthday.
