I'm looking at getting some custom scales made for a BM 556, but the maker isn't very familiar with how the knife is assembled and how the backspacer and liners and everything fits. If i could please get some pictures showing the parts and how it's assembled so the i could have scales made, I'd much appreciate it.

p.s. Does disassembling the knife void the warranty?

Alright I sent an email to Wilkins but he really wasn't of any help. He pretty much suggested the obvious of just buying the knife and using that to make diagrams.

So does anybody have pics of a Mini-grip disassembled? I wouldn't even think it has to specifically be a 556 since they're all built the same.

You have a knife maker who can make handle scales from only a picture posted on the internet??? WOW.

No, he just wants pics to even see if its easily possible before I ship a knife out to him to save time/money. Oh well

It is posisble to swap scales on a Grip since Chase at www.chaxknives.net has done it before. He has pics on his old website as well, but i do remember him mentioning it was a real hassle and more effort was put into it than it was worth.

You might want to contact him for some advice.

It is not hard at all to swap scales on a Griptilian. When you reassemble it, it can get fun lining up the washers and blade, but the trick is to pull back just a little on the axis lock when lining them up.
