Help me decide which knife to buy:
Benchmade Mini Grip 557 or Emerson CQC7 Mini.
I have 58 folder but not a single Tanto blade. Both knifes have their pros and cons. What is your opinion? Yea I know get both.

I carried a EKI commander for a long time and still consider it one of the best knives I have ever EDC'ed but the continual lock problems (wears out in a very short time) have halted further purchases. The warranty takes care of it "no questions asked" but it was too much of a nuisance for me to continue to carry it. I also think BM does a better HT on their 154cm, so even though the 7 is a sweet knife with some nice features IMO the 557 is a better buy.

The 7 is a classic and one of the finest tantos of it's kind. I think that you will find that the lock problems are a thing of the past. That said, the Mini Grip is one of the finest EDC pocket knives made. Now if the choice was between an EKI Mini A-100, I would choose the Emerson, however, within your parameters, I would recommend the Grip.

i would go with the emerson '7, the later ones dont seem to have many liner issues like in the past, unless ya wave them or inertia them a lot anyway.

Emerson. To me, all the grips are missing some soul.

I've weighed everything and the CQC7 mini wins out. The min Grip shines until the handles issue rears its ugly head. Everything about the mini grip is great except for the dang hangles.

I have and use both well i did till i broke my grip getting it repaired right now i use the grip for every day chores and general work jobs the cqc7 is a fighting tool would never use mine to cut some of the things i do with my grip
