BM 581 or Para2?

I own a para2 and have had it for a year or so now. I haven't carried the knife that much but I would say it's on the larger side of knives I own. I had a bad experience dealing with Spyderco this past week regarding warranty replacement on my delica wave.
So, with a bad taste in my mouth I was thinking of replacing my para2 with a bm581 with M390 steel. I own a few other spydercos but the para would be the first one to go I think. I like the FFG of the para but the cutting edge is smaller compared to handle size.

What do you think would be a good BM replacement for size of that knife? I was thinking bm581 because it seemed to be as beefy of a knife and similar weight. I though about the Adamas but that is a tad to heavy for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Very intersting suggestion, Ive held that knife before and loved the blade shape. Do you think its decent in the pocket? i thought it was on the thick side?
In my opinion one of Benchmade's best edc knives is the Mini Onslaught.

It is a pretty thick knife although it doesn't bother me at all. Since you're used to carrying a para 2 it may take a little getting used to the thickness, but it's a really great knife.

Another vote for the mini-onslaught. That blade grind is great for EDC.

The clip is tip-up, right hand only, though.

I came very close to buying a Mini Onslaught, but the the blade is just sooo thin.

The BM 581 is assisted openning + AXIS lock. Which means it fires right open with a slight push of thumb stud but cannot close with a flick of wrist pinching AXIS lock. You will need to close with 2 hands.

The 522 black serie, ultra presido tactical is more beefy, but its hollow ground. That may or may not suit your liking.

I am quite impress with the 553 full size griptilian (tanto blade) 551 for drop point blade...it's more beefy than what I thought it would be, but the blade action is incredible....though some people may feel the handle is plastic like....but in realization the handle is so lite weight Vs the blade (154cm) weight, makes the action so incredibly fast. With a few flicking practice, it's actually faster than my automatic OTF....and if you like a Loud SNAP sound...Benchmade is it....there is a sweet snap with openning...

The 581 barrage is you like A/O

The 522 is beefy hollow ground.

Full size Griptilian for smooth & fast action.

I have heard lots of great stuff with the 950 rift also..

The Grip might be nice, and I could get it with a hole instead of thumb stud opener. Its also cheaper than the 581. 581 is pretty sexy though with that aluminium. Do you think the grip would be as durable as the Para?

I never handle a Para 2, so i cannot comment on it, but I solely own one Spyderco Manix 2 XL...I love the ball bearing lock. Works similar to the AXIS.

Frankly, I ordered the mini grip 557, the seller shipped me the wrong model 553, when I held it, flick it open "SNAP" pinch the axis, blade drop down & close...smooth wrist flick action. I'm really impressed....I think the griptilian is known as MINI small...but the full size one is really beefy than I thought. I'm holding it now as I type...the Tanto blade gives it a tougher look IMO.

I have the barrage 580 assisted open...I love it, other than having to close the blade with other hand.
The griptilian is like the barrage, but de-assisted....if you like texture, jimppin, it's call a griptilian for some reasons....just feels good in the hand. Like what I said earlier, some may feel the handle is plastic like, but its because its so lite weight, the blade action is so easy to flick...Vs...my 522 black serie tactical, the blade handle is beefy and bulk so it takes a stronger flick of the wrist to close.
