Just got in my PE 707 - fantastic knife. Just as solid as the 705 - but thinner than a mini-grip. I take all my clips off so that the knives ride nice and thin in the pocket - and this guy is super thin without the clip. Tons of blade hidden in that handle too. Wow. I am a happy camper. :D

definitely worthy of being the sucessor to the 705.

Mine was ordered yesterday as a Christmas present, of sorts, :jerkit: to myself. Anyway, Im excited as hell to get something a bit more svelt than my AFCK for EDC. I've already looked into getting a leather sheath from a fellow named Chris Kravitt of treestumpleather.com who seems to really know what he's doing. I prefer to carry blades tip-down, so a sheath is the only way for the 707. I would just toss it in my pocket, but I'd also like to keep it looking new. Thus, excuse the highjack but:

to anyone who already has a coated benchmade aluminum handle, does the coating withstand loose change and keys and such, or will it look beat to hell after a week in my pocket?

P.S. You're right. That was too short to be a real review. I'll post my own "non-review" when it arrives.

707 is my favorite EDC. I used it a lot on Christmas day, gotta love the combination of alot of blade in a small package plus the ease of opening of the axis lock. Mine is the combo edge, non-coated.

Hi
I just got the 707 a few days ago, and am ecstatic about it!
It's my first Benchmade, and it took about 6 months of reading
everyone's comments here to decide which one to get.
I played with a few models in the store, but didnt appreciate the
full beauty of the axis lock, and the ease of opening and closing,
until i applied the required drop of militec1 and practiced a bit.
(sore thumbs anyone?)

The construction is very solid, and fits my medium sized hand very
well in a fist grip. I love how much blade they squeezed into a knife
this size, and it arrived extremely sharp - quite a bit sharper that the
Spyderco Native bought a few weeks ago. The edge seems durable
after some moderate testing on live branches and cardboard.

I think my next knife will be Benchmade....

peace

ok first of all this is my favorite knife,,,i have had it and used it daily for 4 months. It is built like a tank and cuts as well as any knife I've had...Calypso Jr. type cutting.

That said, yes the black aluminum can chip, and can get wear marks,,its not perfect,,but still tough as nails....

personally I just enjoy a few scars...trust me a great buy!
