I just purchased a 707 yesterday from a local dealer. It's a terrific knife but I noticed the blade is causing a small gouge in the aluminum spacer when it closes. Like it's closing just a bit too far. Has anyone else seen this? Should I go exchange it? That area of the blade does seem to be dulling.

Mine opens/closes smoothly, as do all my Benchmades. I'd have to take it back.

It's not that it isn't smooth, it's VERY smooth. If you shine a light in yours can you see a mark from the blade striking the spacer? Thanks!

Darn it. :grumpy: Now that you mention it, yes. Looking in with a flashlight, I just noticed it. I've had it over a year but it has been a shelf queen, so I never really use it. So, where to go from here?

I own a 707 Sequel and have never had that problem. Great knife. I'd return it to your dealer for another, or send it to Benchmade for warranty service. They'll make it right for you.
