My BM 710 has a slight rattle coming from the axis lock only while the knife is closed. Has anyone else experienced this from any BM axis locks. I would disassemble it and investigate, but I do not own any torx drivers that are that small.

My 942 does the same thing. I think that the axis pin moves from side to side a bit within the cutouts causing the rattle when the blade is closed, but when it is open, the omega springs push the bar into the blade tang firmly enough that it doesn't rattle.

I think Steve is right. I believe it is the blade hitting the stop pin because the "detente" is caused by the action of the omega springs holding the blade in the closed position. The springs have the least tension in them when the blade is in the closed position.

Ah, Steve's right. I just checked my 942, and the stop pin does indeed rotate when the blade is closed. It must be what is causing the rattling.
