I haven't seen much talk on this knife. I really would like to order a 721. I specifically need info on the G-10 handle. Having seen only pictures of this knife, it appears that the handle is rather large. I previously purchased a Griptilian, but did not like the large, thick handle it had. I sold it. Can anyone give me a size comparison of the G-10 handle of the 721 compared to the Griptilian? Thanks.

I do not have one yet, thinking of purchasing one, from what Ive seen its a little thinnner than the gript.

I have both, but neither on me at the time. From tactile memory, and much familiarity with both (they are two of my favorites), their thickness is so close to the same as to be identical. Unfortunately, I would bet that if you didn't like the Griptilian, you wouldn't like the 721. On top of the thickness, it is not as contoured as the Gript.

If you like the Axis Lock but want a smaller hilt, you may wish to look into the Osborne 940/941/942/943 series of knives. I have one of the original 940's with green anodized aluminum scales and a "reverse tanto" blade with a plain edge in satin finish. I generally prefer Spyderco knives, but I have a Pardue 720 as well as the Osborne 940 and 770. I deem the 770 to be THE perfect Gentleman's dress-up pocket knife, the only limit being that the clip is not ambidextrous in its mounting, and I deem the 940 to be one of the best knives that I own. I generally am not fond of tanto style blades, but this one works for me and the sculpturing of both the blade and the hilt make it handsome as well as very comfortable to carry and to use. If I were to buy one now, my only different choice would be to buy the 941 with its clip point blade rather than the reverse tanto on the 940.

BTW, I also bought a 730 Ares designed by Elishewitz. It just did not fit my hand, having a swelling at the base of the hilt which impinged upon the base of my palm when I used it, very quickly becoming quite painful. I traded it away for a pair of Spydies.

i've got one almost new in box, plain edge, original everything,
$70 + $4 shipping. Great knife, just never use it. Clip is far superior to Spyderco, easy to put on a sharp edge, too!
