what do you dudes think? Or is there another similar Tanto worth considering? I had a SOG mini x-ray and returned it - too weak in the locking area for me. Don't like the Cold Steel stuff.

Thanks in advance.

The BM Axis locks will be a heavy duty lock. I never found my BM Tanto to be very practicle and it sees little to no use. :) If you're not set on a tanto stlyle blade, check out the Doug Ritter Grip:

There is also a smaller version available, linked to from that page. I must admit, the Grip handle carries really well. I don't even feel it in my pocket and forget it's there.

I only have the 722, but I gotta suggest the mini-grip. I don't really care for aluminum handles after EDCing the 722 for a while. The anodizing is getting worn around the edges. Always worrying about scratching it. :( And it's kina heavy.

Now, it's kina bus up, so I don't really care. It's a user ;)

I have both and I say 722 w/Aluminum Handles All the way.

Pros: It is a little tank and more rugged than the Grip, ALL metal construction (A con to some), better blade steel (154cm) and longer blade. And it Looks great with my AR-15!

Cons: costs more. weights more (not a con for me though). Handle not as comfy as grip

You cant go wrong with either one though, just depends how heavy-duty of a knife you want.
