ok I NEED a BM.....have 100 budget this one is in my range ,the 732 ares...how does it stack up? I need a 100 or sub 100 dollar BM with an Axis lock............are there better models to consider?

you can get two very good choice in your range if you bumped it to $110. Sorry for the slight increase in your range, it is almost inevitable around here anyway. It is possible to get the Doug Ritter Griptilian, Ritter Mini Griptilian, and the AFCK D2 for 105, 100, and 109 respectively.

Might want to give those options a hard look.

Good luck,
Dustin

Originally it is designed by Elisheits. I think this is probably best BM for this price. Some lucky people even have M2 version, I have LE D2.

Anyway with Elishewits design and Axis Lock this is very cool knife:

Thanks, Vassili.

I agree with nozh2002 and Duffin444.

Don't know, if the Cabelas' Grip could be better as an Ares, but I would consider that option.

The handle is a matter of taste - the blades are similar in their cutting performance, but D2 holds the edge noticeable better than 154CM.

If You add some bucks, You can buy a Ritter Griptilian, which is even better cutter as the both others. And has S30V.

I would think about 710 in 154CM too (or in M2, if You add some more ;) ) - they are all great knives, I would only try which I like most ;)

Deezul - IMO 732 is one of the best and most universal BM currently made, regardless of price. But with about 100$ in your pocket you can take a look at 710, 420 and 520 also. Each of them should be a good user, 806 is rather for self defense but its a very nice knife. You may also choose Grip D2 or Ritter - both are great but their finish is not as high class as mentioned models (zytel vs. G10 and so on). Finally you can try to find few BMs that are no longer in production but very good: 805 or 720... or maybe 880? I like all of them but my personal favourite is Ares - the God of War ;-)

wow thanks for all the responses..........I'll narrow it a bit................want it on the larger side(at least Ares size but not gi-normous) . I also want to avoid plastic or Zytel handles........the Ares with a silver blade would be sweet..........grips are nice if I can get over the handle. Mini grips are too small IMO...............

kinda like this one Model 806SD2 (Combo Edge / BT2 Coating)
Our Online Price.....$109.37

torn as heck though.......because its alot for me to spend but they are soooo nice.

Think I'll settle on an Ares ..just gotta find the cheapest place.

Well..........I finally own a Benchmade. Just ordered a combo edge Ares (love the handle's look) from 1sks for $99
