i saw a benchmade 732 ares, axis lock. bm discontinued this folder, but i saw one priced what i thought to be pretty good deal. my question is if this would be a good general edc, utility knife. the blade is 154 cm and a little thinner ( 0.116) i always hear ats-34 being pretty good steel, yet 154-cm seems less. but isn't 154-cm just american version of ats-34? thanks

ATS-34 and 154CM are very, very similar. Both are excellent stainless steels.
The 732 is a quality product from a top company.
As to whether it would be a good EDC - generally yes, but it really depends on your specific uses/needs.

If you like the knife and the price, I recommend that you buy it.

The 73X Ares series are great knives and I highly recommend them. I have a 735. It is my fav EDC...

I have a 732, quality blade and a smooth operator, buy it if the price is right.

Actually ATS-34 and 154CM are exactly the same steel...one is made in Japan and one in America, but they have the same composition. It is one of my favorite steels.

Any of the BM Ares 73X knives are very nice and it's unfortunate that they were discontinued.

This is one of the BEST that Benchmade has done. I say go for it if the price is right. It is a very smooth axis. THANKS! Kevin:thumbup:
