Does anyone have any comments on the 735 Ares with the green/black G-10 scales or the 732 Ares that is catalogued this year with the black scales and teflon blade. The 3.6 inch spear point looks really good. I have been unable to find one to hold in my grubby hand as of yet.

Thanks,

It is just beautifull! Elishewitz have a talent to combine beauty and functionality. Best part I like - handle it is not flat - as usual, but kind of 3-dimentional - relief, so it fits my palm better and also palm can sense handle better - orients itself.

Thanks, Vassili.

The 730 series is one of BM's best, IMHO. It's been around for a long time, which says alot in a very competitive industry. There have also been a few dy-no-mite limited editions.

Great pics, Vassili!

Love Allen Elishewitz's designs for BM. I would buy a 732 in a heartbeat if it came in S30V

I have the earlier model with the purple and black G-10. Great, solid knife. The action on mine is extremely smooth. It's the only knife that temporarily replaced my BM710HSSR as my EDC for any length of time. :)

Up until about 1:00 today, I had a model 730 (maroon & black scales...I think that's the same model that you have, WadeF).

These are solid, mid-sized knives, and is one of the smoothest that I've ever owned...The whole 73X series is excellent, but then so are ALL of the Benchmade Axis-lock series with G-10 scales!...I haven't found one yet that I'm not pleased with.

It is just the right size for me...I find the 710 and the 806 a bit big for EDC. The blade is a good grind for a work knife, with a strong, usable tip and a slightly thicker edge than some of the real slicers out there. You won't be disappointed.

GarageBoy; The 733-01 in CF & wood is S30V. And it's one sweet knife. The smoothest I've ever handled!

I have the 730BT. It's identical to the 732 or 735 except for the color of the G10 scales. It is the closest thing to perfect for EDC that I've ever come across, and I've had the other more popular Benchmades like the AFCK and the 710 McHenry Williams to compare it to.
At a blade length of about 3.5" I consider it "the" perfect size. A lot of people however, don't like it for this reason since it falls about in the middle between all of the larger almost 4" models and the minis just under 3". The spear point, plain blade design is also the most practical I've experienced.
The other pros include the fact that it is truly abidexterous: dual thumb studs, axis lock, and the clip is reversable (left or right side). It's tip up carry. The handle is very comfortable.
The new axis lock is great, very smooth. I had the 710 with the axis lock when it first came out and it sucked so much that I gave it away. I don't know what they did in the way of improvements but they definitely changed something.
I only carry one knife all of the time and this is it right now. I don't rotate EDCs like a lot of people. If I'm doing something like camping or fishing I simply bring along another knife more specifically suitable to the purpose, in addition to my pocket folder.
