hi, on one of my previous post, i stated that i like to disassemble my BM 750 and i received response stating that it will void the BM warranty. After many thoughts, i decided what the heck, i like to learn and know the inner working of this knife. So i will take the risk, besides if i do it right, BM would never know. My qestion is any members here have took one apart and what i should watch out for so that i don't screw up. Any input to this is appreciated.

Simple knife. Not really too much to it.

Only thing I'd do is to keep the pivot washers in order, so they go back on the same side of the blade that you took them off of. They very possibly could be matched up that way to prevent liner rub, or to center the blade.

Other than that, have fun, don't cut yourself, and don't strip out the screws.
:)

Simple as they come to strip and put back together. I clean mine every now and then. Use the right Torx drivers and there's nothing to mess up.

Is it necessary to take the pocket clip off in order to disassemble the whole pivot section??

Welcome aboard 424v8! Only if the clip is covering the pivot pin, and only then if you want to take the pivot pin out to polish it. Good idea about keeping the washers on the same side.

Rough instructions on dissembling the 750.

Things needed
T6
T15
good quality grease
thread locker adesive

1. Take off the clip using T6.
2. Screw out the pivot screw using T15. Do not open the blade and lock the blade!!!
3. Screw back the pivot screw 3 turns and force the pivot out the other side. Notice that the pivot pin is notched and remember the direction of the notch.
4. take off the blade by sliding out the blade. Note that the washers are smaller on the locking side.
5. screw out the two spacer screws using T6
6. use a large screwdriver, pad the tip, and pry the liners apart.

Assembling
join the two liners using the stop pi as guide.
put in spacer and use a pin or screwdriver through the lanyard hole and spacer, and screw in the two spacer screws.

Note> turn the screws counter-clockwise until you feel a drop, then screw in. This is to ensure that the threads are matched. Also make sure that the screws are straight and align. Use a dab of nutlocker, just touch a bit on the threads.

dab a bit of grease around the washer, and stick them to the blade, the large washer on the side of the thumbstud.

use the padded screwdriver to part the liner a bit, between the stop pin and stacer near to the stop-pin. open the liner lock and slide in the blade.

Grease the pivot pin on the outer surface lightly, taking care not to get grease in the screwhole. use a small screwdriver to align the washers to the hole, slide in the pivot pin making note of the notch, from the clip side. Do not use force!! Just use the small screwdriver to wiggle the washer aroung until the pivot pin slide through.

Dab some nutlocker on the screw and tihgten then back off a qtr turn.

Hope this helps.
