I am looking into getting a Benchmade 760 and want to do my homework, is there anything significant about the monolock, is it just the same as Striders and Sebenzas have or is there a difference. Who came out with this lock first anyway, did Lum do it and that's why it gets touted with the moniker monolock or what? I also heard the detent doesn't like to hold the blade into the handle very tightly, that true? What's the handle thickness? Benchmade doesn't give that spec.

"Monolock" is Benchmade's special name for frame lock (or Reeve integral/Sebenza integral lock), just like 'modified locking liner' is their special name for liner lock (or Walker liner lock). It's kinda like how Cold Steel calls their lockbacks "rocker locks," I think it just makes 'em feel special when there's really no need to.;)
