I'm considering a BM771 Osborne Axis for EDC. It seems to have all of Benchamde's best features, and a fairly discreet size and appearance.
My question is about the black (or nifty red/black) coating on the aluminum handles. How well does that hold up, occaisionally sharing a pocket with keys, change, etc? The alternative is the 770 Gent with carbon fiber handles, though a few more $.
I'd appreciate any thoughts on handle preferences, or the BM770 in general.

Thanks!!

I have the 771 and carried every day for about 3 months. It's a great knife and the size makes it very light in the pocket. The aluminum makes the knife very grippy and is pretty tough. I had the 940 also and didn't notice any difference in the smaller version of the axis lock. Lastly, the blade shape and the material (154cm) makes it a breeze to sharpen. My first time sharpening on my sharpmaker made it razor sharp in about 5 mins.

For all these virtues though I think that my camillus edc wins out due to the better grip and thinner profile. I'm trying to get rid of my 771 so I can purchase a D2 edc. Let me know if your interested.
