After handling the BM770 at a recent gun show, I'm planning on buying one. The one I handled had the satin blade, buy I want the Black blade. My question is, is the pocket clip also blackened, and if not what would be a good way to do so? My current EDC's clip has had it's black finish partially worn off, and I would like to refinish it also.

The clips are not blackened but are a dull stainless. I too would like the clip black but have not yet figured out an easy way to do it. It can be done using Brownell's bake on lacquer but your wife will kill you for using her oven and stinking up the house (the noxious odor lingers for days). I'm tempted to find a piece of spring steel, try to duplicate the OEM clip and blue it with cold blue. I've not worked up the ambition yet though. They, of course, can be anodized but several anodizers in my area have a $30 to $40 minimum. Pretty expensive for a few knife clips.

I'll have to check with Brownells. I wonder if stainless will take that lacquer without flaking off. I don't have to worry about the wife thing, I traded mine in for a few guns, a new car, and a lot less headaches.
