BM 804 M2 VS The Deer

A friend of mine is on a list the town calls when a deer is hit by a car and the police have to shoot it. I happened to be over there when the call came in. His freezers are full and he asked if I wanted it. I gladly accepted and went to go meet the officer and claim my deer. Once back at his house I went for the only knife I had on me, a Benchmade 804 AFCK in M2. This knife had been used mostly for light duty work but was about to get a real test. It unzipped that deer like I have never seen before. The deer was then hung in his garage for a couple days. I went back with the same knife to skin and cut the meat for packaging. When all was said and done I washed the knife and checked the edge. This thing will still shave hair!!!!!!!! I have never before in my life seen a knife that will stay sharp after dismantling a deer. Then again I never used a Benchmade to do it. Thumbs up on this now discontinued knife.:(

Edited to add: I found the bullet the police shot it with. It was a fully expanded .40 Gold Dot.

Yes, it is a great knife. I have one and I use it in my daily rotation. The M2 is somewhat more difficult to sharpen, but it does hold an edge well.
