Hello, does this model have steel or titanium liners? Are the blue spacers titanium? Any word on future AFCK production models?

I was so stoked to see this thread title -hoped there was a new production. Somebody, please bring back this knife!

The AFCK has been long discontinued. BKC did make a limited run which got snapped up. Haven't heard about bringing the model back (...but that would be cool!)

Steel liners as far as I know, on all the Axis lock versions, spacers are anodized Aluminum. My 2 favorite Benchmades.

I love the AFCK model, I have a 901 M4 steel version, was admiring the 701 models and was curious about the materials, not sure why the AFCK it isn't a production version yet after all the demand

It was a production version for a while, but not too much demand. If it were there it would be available. Each company justifies continued production by different standards. The Griptilian series has a lot of demand, much more than the AFCK ever did.

Unfortunately for us AFCK lovers this is very true. The last limited run they did sat around KW for months if I recall. Good for me because that allowed me to snag one. Still, I so wish they would give another regular run a try. I know I'd buy one!

I cant imagine that a regular version in G10 and S30V or lesser steel priced under $200 would not sell well, but I guess they were discontinued for a reason.

Marketing...the AFCK didn't sell well so went the Dinousaur route...now just try to find one!

Those two are real beauties! I always thought I would like the version with the opening hole better, but the blade grind on the one with studs is awesome.

I feel the same way. But the LE they put out a couple of years ago was just that, an AXIS lock version with M390 steel only 400 pieces made for just under $200. With a really nice G10 at that. They didn't exactly fly off the shelves and took a while to sell. Then again it was an exclusive so perhaps the larger knife buying public just wasn't aware?

I remember the original AFCK was very popular in military and LE circles, that's how I discovered it, and BM for that matter but I guess outside those circles it never really took off. Or not enough to continue it as a regular production like lets say the 710.

Either way I think it's a shame. The AFCK has to be IMO one of the finest knives ever made. The original and it variations and LE's remain my favorites.

Well one in 154CM or D2 should be able to come in even cheaper. Seems like a no-brainer, but I understand just because I would buy one doesn't mean everyone would. Larger folders don't seem to be their bread and butter anymore, and likely dont sell well enough to justify a return :(

I'm with you. Interestingly the older versions like the AXIS in D2 fetches a good amount on the secondary market. That would be an outstanding version to bring back. I'd buy two!

Lets hope that if we continue to show enough interest, just maybe the powers that be are listening and some day we'll see another regular production run.

The top one is the 805 - TSEK, the bottom is the 806 AFCK. Truth be told, I love the TSEK just a little more, because of the blade grind that tall flat grind does cut a bit better than the saber grind on the 806.
Very nice Charlie. I can see why they are favorites

Thanks Mike, the 805 has some use on it, that picture was from when it was newer. It doesn't show wear easily, which is a good thing. That 805 split the pad of my thumb open by just the weight of the blade falling on it (and a little flick of the wrist). I freaked out when I saw the blood everywhere. Thankfully, no stitches, but I did need a couple butteryflys (no pun intended, seriously). ;)

My favorite knife design is the AFCK and I carry my first one that I bought almost daily, (an 806 D2). I have added them (800s, 806s and 805s) to my collection since 2008 or 09 when I found out they were discontinued, *this is both older liner lock models and newer axis lock models and TSEKs as well as AFCKs) as I have found them at reasonable prices and as the LEs came out. I would and will buy any more LEs they make of this knife, and in fact just traded for an 800-1001SBK that I missed out on my first time around. I just love the knife in all of it's iterations.
