Mods, this is NOT a Trade or For Sale post, I'm just looking for ideas, info, thoughts, etc., so if you could leave it here that would be good.

As I said above, I'm not necessarily looking to trade or sell my BM 806 BUT, if I did, what do you think it might be worth? If, for example, I wanted to trade for something like an RC-4 for example, would there need to be cash to make up any difference either way?

Just for info:

It's a BM 806 D2 with black blade. It's close enough to LNIB, never used, carried or sharpened.

Please note once again, I just want info, do NOT make me any offers. If I decide to dispose of it I will put it in the correct forum.

Thanks.

The Benchmade 806D2 AFCK is out of production and still very much sought after. I'm going to guess without seeing it and it being like new. $150

Take condition 1's offer, and tack on about $100 for it. I picked one up at a local gunstore for $140 about 6 months ago, and sold it for 250 on another forum.

The 806 D2 is highly sought after by Benchmade knuts. You'll obviously get the full amount if the blade is plain edge, rather than the combo, but around that range is what I'd expect.

It is a great knife, but IMO, a much better bargaining chip:D.

I sold mine for $300 just after they discontinued them. I hate to say it, but I think it might have been worth that to keep mine. I do credit that $300 with the money that really started me on collecting knives. I purchased a Benchmade 710, Griptilian, Rant, and Spyderco Manix with the spoils. The 710 and Manix are still with me and they are two of my favorite knives. I doubt you could still get $300 for it, but I'd say if it is like new it would go for around $200. This knife has a cult following, and Benchmade knows it, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it re-released in the future (besides the $600 Gold Class release last year). You will definitely be able to get more out of it than you put into it, but I recommend you use it instead: it has a cult following for a reason.

Gaj I sold mine here about 2 months ago, it was nib plain edge and I want to say I got $265.

If you feel a quick profit gives you more pleasure than a 3.9" D2 high-sabre flathground clip point in a steel-lined G10 handle with an Axis Lock go for it! I traded mine towards INFI and have often looked back (can't flick a fixed blade open and closed as often).

It's certainly a nice knife, no question there, and I can believe it's much sought after. The problem is that I don't use it. It's just not the size/shape folder that is suitable for my EDC requirements. Since I like to think of all of my knives as users in one way or another I sort of feel bad that it's just sitting there in a dark cupboard doing nothing.

I may keep it, I may not. Haven't convinced myself either way yet.

Thanks for the info guys, it was interesting and useful.

Unfortunately they ship only to US and Canada, if I understood correctly.

I am hunting AFCK 806D2 for a long time.

Franco

Don't worry - they don't actually have them. You'd be surprised how many older knives are still listed as available even when they aren't.

Keep it, don't use it, you can find another knife to cut something.

806 D2 will always gain value. It is a classic because BM is too hardheaded to start making them again (s30v BM?)

The Benchmade 806D2 is the 1957 Chevy of the production knife world.

Mine was my EDC for about six years. It looks like hell and I still wouldn't take $200 for it.

Benchmade has promised to release the M4 806 on the Benchmade Forum. I'll dig up the link real quick.

Gentlemen,

I'm proud to announce that Benchmade will be doing an 806-M4 limited edition this year.

Stay tuned for more info....

There you have it, gajinoz,

Sell your 806D2 before the 806M4 is released US economy collapses and, if you want a similar knife, you'll be able to get a presumably nicer one (though I hear some lucky folks from way back in the day have the exceedingly rare 806M2 knives).

I'm tempted to sell it, but I probably won't. I just can't seem to bring myself to sell the knives I have. Strange, but there it is.
