Been seeing a lot of threads about the 710 lately with a lot of user stories. Like how long people have had it, what they cut with it, ect. Was wondering if their were any 806 stories like that. Had mine for a couple of years and I still carry it. Cut lots of material with it, even light prying when I had no choice.

Who still carries an 806 and what I've you cut/used it for?

Still carry an 806 once in a while. It rides clipped to my vest or weak side front pocket. Cuts everything that needs to be cut. IMHO, one of BM's finest.

ive been using mine for years, it stayed with me when i was at the bmw dealership and now that im at a small country garage its still by my side. i keep it cliped in my right front pocket just under my 1911. mines probably been with me 4-5 years.

i use mine for alot of tire repairs, eather cutting plugs or when demounting old tires instead of pulling the valve core i just slash the side wall, ive got it zip tied for easy access when my hands are full.

Have owned a 806 for a couple of years now. Ususally use it for the normal stuff, cutting boxes, string, rope, etc. Even use it in the garden to trim or cut flowers, etc. Well, this past Friday, was over at my neighbors just shooting the breeze. Was carrying the 806 in my strong side pocket. Was relating an incident where we had chased a "foreign visitor" from out of one of our neighbors truck. As I was telling them of the incident, this "Visitor" decides to park his back-side on my flower planter next to my car. I asked him to leave, and when he refused, I ordered him to leave. His response was to proceed to pull a knife from his pocket. Well, I didn't spend many years in the Navy working with Seals (never was one myself, just spent a lot of time working with them), and not learn a thing or two about personal defense against a knife attack. To make a long story short, the 806 proceeded to spur him to action, and he and his buddy took many long strides out of our neighborhood. Thank goodness for the 806.

I had an 806D2 for a while. It cut everything I needed it to. Finally traded it so someone else could enjoy it.
I liked to keep the D2 sharp with my ultrafine Spyderco flat stone. I'm sure some day I'll regret trading it off, for now though I am happy with my Kris doing all the big cutting.

I love the afck design and think the 806 is one of the best knives I've ever held. I used to collect afcks, but got away from "collecting" at this point. I still have 2 806s though, one is nearly new, and the other has been used pretty hard for about 2 years. I recently had the serrations ground into a plain edge on my user. -Looks and works pretty good. I've thought about getting carbon fiber handles put on the newer one, but haven't made the jump yet. I see they have a limited edition out now (Steve A. might of had a pic. posted of it) that has cf, blue spacers, and a big round hole that looks really nice. Price is up there though, of course. The 806 is one of those knives I think I'll always have at least one of. Great knife. Pretty close to perfect in my opinioin.
Looks like that pic is of a g-10 one.

What kind of edge to you all keep on your 806? I put a polished edge on mine but it didn't keep as long as a toothy. I definatly think I should have gotten the plain edge as it just looks better. I think it might cut better too using the whole length of the blade with the design.

I have a 806 with a round hole and a linerlock. I bought it about a month ago and it just stays in my drawer. I don't wanna use it hard because it's one of my favorite and it's hard to find. I also ordered the one with carbonfiber handle and S30V blade. I fell in love with it when I saw this knive. I had to have it. I bought it from WeBeKnives. Can't wait to see that knive.:D
