Hey all-
Just thought I'd share this for those who are interested.
I called up Earl at Grand Prarie Knives today to order a Spydie Tim Zowada. As I was completing the order, we got to chatting about how his business is doing and such. He asked how I liked the p.p. 730S I ordered from him, and off handedly mentioned he just got a new Benchmade model in 25 minutes ago. So I of course asked which one. Apparently it's the BM 855S, in pre- production. From what I took from Earl, it's like the 850 Pardue(the dressy folder, micarta, rainbow Ti, you know...) but this one has black aluminum handles and a pocket clip. And like the 730 p.p. run it's in combo edge now. Pre- pro. is limited to 500 on this one, again according to Earl.
So instead of the Spydie, I bought one of these, I can't wait to check it out. I love the regular 850, as it's a great all-rounder for my day to day tasks. This one will be a nice addition I hope.
The price? $74.95. Not bad. I don't know how many he's got or anything, I just talked to him this afternoon and he had just received them. So ymmv, as always. Any one hear of this one before? Pics?
