Hey guys.

Im going on a trip to London soon and thought id pick a Benchmade 905 on sale. This particular Benchmade model comes with a thumbdisc. As one-handed openeres are not legal to edc where im from, i was wondering if the disc is easy to unscrew from the blade?

If they are easily unscrewed, ill just buy one and lose the thumbdisc.

One more question, am i correct in saying that the only visible difference between a Mini Stryker and Nitrous Mini Stryker, is that the former has a thumb-disc and the latter has a thumb-stud?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

The benchmade 905 Mini Styker is a manuel opening Linear Lock Blade with thumbstud for deployment and is also no longer in production, If my memory serves me correctly I believe the thumb disk is held on by a small hex screw of some type of could possibly be removed. The benchmade 913 nitrous Styker is very similar in shape it is a whole diff beast, it is a assisted opener IE The Nitrous mechanism is built directly into the liners, which propels the blade open with ease. meaning it is closer to a Automatic vs the 905 which is a manuel Blade.. Both blades have G-10 handles which is a plus in my book.

If its nothing but a hex-screw then im sure it be loosened somehow. Anybody try it before?

I know what the difference is in terms of Nitrous vs. regular stryker.

What i meant was if youre looking at a picture how do you differentiate visually between the regular mini stryker and the nitrous mini stryker. I think that the regular one has a thumb-disc and the Nitrous has a thumb-stud. Can anybody confirm this?

Thats Correct the Old Mini Styker has a Disk Thumb Stud on top of the blade while the New Model 913 has a Thumb Stud on the side of blade kinda like the Benchmade model 710..
