I'd like toknow the blade thickness and any othe details that you all could tell me. BM's site is lacking beacause there format doesn't support double bladed knives I guess.
Thanks a Lot

Unfortunately they don't list the thickness, only the lengths 3.3 inches for the S30V and 2.1 for the 440C blade. I found the listing for it (such as it is) by using 921 as the keyword for the product search. There are some pictures in a thread on the benchmade forum; but none that show the back of the blade. I just checked a thread in the what's new forum, Dexter states the 921's thickness is about the same as the 940 so blade thicknesses may be similar(?).

I'll confess that I'm not too good at reading those small fractions on a ruler, but I think that the main blade on my 921 is about 2mm wide. The smaller blade is about 1.5mm in width. Overall, the 921 is an incredibly thin knife, by far the thinnest axis lock yet made.

thanks a lot anthony! In your estimation is the 921 a useable (punishable) knife my knives are almost always broken when i get a new one or they are not holding up, Blade wiggles lock gets loose. What do you think?

I haven't pushed the 921 I own at all, but just from my observation, I would say that the knife is very well made, but not super heavy duty. It should work fine cutting, especially finer jobs that would require a very sharp point. The knife is definitely no folding prybar. You need to get a Strider for that sort of thing. If anything, I see this knife as a sort of large gents knife/pocket knife, not a tactical/survival piece. The thin blade and keen point are simply not designed for much torquing or abuse.

Thanks a lot for your observations, Thats exactly what I wanted to know. Maybe I'll get a Fixed blade like the BM100 for the heavy lifting and the 921 for the rest.

I too received my pre-production 921 number 0118 of 1000. I suppose all the pre-production models are partially serrated. I agree with Anthony about the thin-ness of the knife. It's definately a gent folder and certainly not my idea of a hard use knife. I have a question for Anthony. Straight out of the box my model showed some wear to the blue finish around the screws. Not alot of wear, but there is some faint wear. Was yours the same way?

I did notice a slight bit of scratching on the paint around the last screw above the clip. I would never have noticed had you not mentioned your observation. It's still a great looking knife though.
