I picked up a benchmade 940 with the green anodized aluminum scales..
they look a little dull around the edges,,,anyone have any suggestions on what to touch them up with....I was thinking mineral oil, but wasn't sure.
In my work, we use kerosene for machining lubricant on aluminum. It always leaves the metal looking bright....this is my first aluminum handle knife and I don't want to screw it up...

Its anodized, not paint or anything like that. Try whatever you want on it, you cant really mess up anodized aluminum unless you rub something abrasive on it.

I believe that BM leaves something on the aluminum that dulls the surface and gives the aluminum handles a chalky feel. I scrubbed mine with the abrasive side of a pot scrubber/sponge and dish soap, which took care of the problem without damaging the surface.

Mineral oil will condition it well over time,
and gets rid of that chalky feel, good lube also.

Actually makes it less prone to scuffs.
