I was comparing my 940 with a much older one owned by one of the guys I work with and noticed that while they are both green, they couldn' t be more different and still be considered the "same" color.
His is a much older model in olive drab green which really appeals to me. The one I just bought is more like a spruce or "forest" green- not nearly as nice IMHO. Most people we've shown them to seem to prefer the olive as well.
I got curious and called BM the other day to ask about the color variation and thay told me it is a product of the annodizing process. Apparently green in particular is very tough to reproduce consistantly. He said most of the olive toned ones he's seen have been older models.
Does that jibe with your observations as well? If so, it looks like I may need to start perusing the used market.
Either way they are awesome knives regardless of color. . .
