BM 940 mod

Folks,

Looking for help with a 940 modification. I want to buy a 940 with the original green aluminum scales and replace the back spacer with barrel spacers like the 940-2 has. Can this be done without additional modification of the scales?

You will have some problems. The gap on the standoff models is 0.162". The gap on the spline models is about 1/2 that amount. If you skinny up the standoffs, you might not have enough internal thread left to anchor 2 screws. The spline models have T-nuts in the right hand scale (only 1 screw at each join). The standoff models use 2 screws in a common "nut".View attachment 1564790

Thanks for the education. Looks like I'd be better off buying another 940-2 and trying to mod that to get what I want.
