Looking for a new EDC and thinking about the 941.Any likes or dislikes about this knife? Thanks, Steve.

One of my favorite carries - actually have it in my pocket now. It is light, slim, and has a sharp edge with a good point. Blade length at just under 3.5" is great for most work.

Axis locks are my favorite Benchmade knives. Can't go wrong with this one.

Steve,

I have a Benchmade 940 Osborne which makes a great carry knife. It is not as large or as stout as my BM 710, but the smaller size of the 940 makes it seem to all but disappear in my front pocket. In spite of the smaller size, the handle is comfortable and the blade is plenty large for for everyday chores. By the way, the 940 came from the factory with a razor edge on the 154CM blade.

Benchmade site shows the 941 as disco. Why/how does Benchmade decide to end production of a particular model of its knives? Is it an agreement as to total production numbers reaching a certain mark with Osborne? Is this Benchmade's M.O. regarding limited sales of collaborative models? Bottom line considerations? Or... something else? Anyone know for sure? I've tried emailing Benchmade and get no company response. Their forum is a source for only speculation and not answers.

All the best,

Ecxellent "little" knife that's really not that little. The aluminum scales seem slim, but are plenty beefy, and the blade is slim, sleek, and wicked sharp. I look at mine almost like a mini-710, in a sheeple-friendly package.

(As for the 941 vs. the 943: I have tons of knives with black handles, I couldn't resist adding a little green!)

I like the 941. it's a nice EDC knife. I don't really care for the blade shape of the 940 though.

I had a 941, briefly. It's a cool knife, but I prefer the blade shape of its older brother, the 940, which has a thicker, more resistant tip.
