I am looking for a different type of knife than I usually carry so this is not an easy choice for me. Any ideas are appreciated.
Looking for something with the following characteristics:
Large grips for big hands but not as thick as the ZT 0200 grips
Blade PE, uncoated, about 3.5 inch or longer.
Fast smooth opening with thumb studs.
Street price used excel condition not more than about $125.00 or slightly higher.

Thanks much.

Forgot to say that the only thing I have right now that comes close to this category is the BM 710. Love it but just want one more blade.

I'be been interested in something along the same lines. Based on your criteria I wonder if the 943 is big enough for you. I prefer tip-down carry so I've been interested in the 890 and the 913.

Is the 943 a bit on the small side? A different kind of knife entirely, but one I like the combo of size yet thin, is a large Case Toothpick traditional folder.

I wouldn't call the 94x series on the small side. You get a lot of blade length and a remarkably solid knife for one that is so thin and light. I mean, it's only 1/2 inch shorter than the 710... and how often do you really need all that girth behind the edge for the stuff your cutting? I prefer the 940, I find it to be a perfect edc for a normal day.

Sounds like I need to look into the 943 a little more. Does anyone find the scales to get scratched really easily on this one?

I think the 943 is one of Benchmade's best offerings. That's a lot of knife in a very easy to carry package. The one I carry is actually a hybrid made from the green scales of my old 940 with a 943 blade. Truthfully the anodized aluminum scales have held up better than the finish on the clip.

If if ever gets really bad I'm probably just going to GunKote it...maybe then I can sell it as a limited edition:)
