BM 943 vs Ritter Mini vs Mini Rukus

I've been on the hunt for a new EDC since I recently traded my Mini Grip 556, and just got in the mail a 943 from NGK. Been playing around with it, and have to say it's not growing on me much. I look at the knife, and it has the elements I'm looking for in an EDC (lightweight, good steel, pretty nice blade design, axis lock, slim profile), but for some reason I just can't get into it. Am I missing something? Did I make a bad choice in choosing it over the Ritter Mini Grip or Mini Rukus? I'm this close to sending it back, or trading/selling it, but keep thinking if I play around with it some more, I'll start liking it. I'm afraid to cut anything with it, so I can return it if I need to, but it seems pretty sharp, and the grinds are even, lockup is solid and the blade is centered. All in all, typical top-notch Benchmade product. I dunno, maybe it's just me. What do you guys think?

mini rukus is a girthy s.o.b. ritter grip is still a grip and has that damn frn handle. both have nice flat grinds but i think you have the best EDC of them already. i prefer the 940 blade shape but, hey, that's me.

If the Valox handle on the Mini Grip doesn't bother you--or you happen to really like it, like I do--I say go Ritter Grip.

Of course, I'm enamored with the one I just bought, but I love it over my 556, 557, and the Cabela's D2.

Of course, if you don't mind the extra price tag on the Mini Ruckus, it's a beautiful, very useful-looking knife as well.

The 943 Osborne and 558 Mini RSK Mk1 are two of my favourite knives for EDC, but I didn't like grip profile of the "Mini" Rukus and sold it.

You may well find that the 943 grows on you. It a slender knife that I think feels great in the hand.

I guess maybe that's the problem right there: it's a slender blade profile. All I've ever carried have been fatter, shorter blades like the Mini Grip, Delica, Native, etc. It will take some getting used to, I guess. It looks more delicate than what I normally carry, but I know it probably isn't. Guess I'll keep it for now. See how I like it in a few weeks.

I absolutely love the 615 mini rukus but I like bigger knives. It is a big knife. Don't let the mini fool ya. My fav EDC is a 14205. It has a bigger blade and a flat handle. SMOOTH!!!!! The smoothest knife I have ever owned. BAR NONE

I really like my BM943 and 941. They are in my EDC rotation. However, if I was going be doing a lot of cardboard box cutting I might go for a Mini Rukus.

I got a 941 that I was originally not too fond of- Turns out I just hated the ugly BM pocket clip, which was too chunky and bead blasted for such an elegant knife. I just took off the clip and now wear it clip less in my back pocket, couldn't be more pleased. It has a good deal of usable edge, and is quite sharp.

Other than the BM 530s, which is THE shit as far as EDC, the 940 series is a real winner. I wouldn't take one to Iraq or to the jungle, but it's just about ideal for a full-size knife for use in the civilized, sheeple intensive world. Very effective on cardboard and clam packs in my experience due to its thin, super sharp blade. I’d say keep it.

Have a 943 that gets carried quite a bit, will probably carry it qa lot this week. SMOOOOTH action, opens so effortlessly that someone thought it was a switchblade. Slim profile makes it disappear in pocket, but plenty strong. One of my favorites.
