I have been doing a little back-logging in the archives here (BM-Forum Search blows) and have been trying to track the changes BM has made with the AFCK.

THe most recent and obvious is the AFCK Axis. How are these dimensions compared to the original 800AFCK?

What is different from an 800 and an 804? Likewise with the smaller models the 812 & the 814?

From what I understand, BM has done this.

First the AFCK was made with "smoother" finished scales than the later models. Just after BM switched to stainless screw recievers instead of threading screws right into the G-10. Then they changed their checkering pattern to a bit more agressive one, and the G-10 looks a bit more "glossy" to me. Whats up with that? About this time they also started to print the patent # of their Ats-34 beneath the listing on the clip side of the blade.

Also I heard rumors that they changed the logo on non-bali-song knives to a butterfly with benchmade inside it rather than "bali-song" Is this true?

Just my backround, I have been carrying 812s-sbt-and HSSR AFCK knives since I got into knives in Mid-1998. A few of mine have been back to the factory to fix problems such as side-side blade play, washer moving with the blade, blade hitting back spacer, changing scales from screw into g-10 to using the stainless receivers, blade sharpening. Every time my knives were returned FAST and perfect, it may have helped that I address them directly to the boss LOL. Anyway I would appreicate any firther info you guys have on the AFCK and the changes it has gone through. If possible please tell me which models are in fact discontinued. Thanks for the time.

i have 3 a 800BT, 800S, and a M2HSS, the BT is a relativly recent model, w/a round hole in the blade and 154CM steel - the 800S is an earlier version, ATS34, and the M2HSS i would think is a intermediate - the BT does have shinier handles, i have seen real early ones that have a black butterfly/silver background logo on the handle vs a silver butterfly/black background logo on the later ones, also all of mine say balisong on the butterfly not BM

i was impressed. pre production #64,IIRC.
dimensions are very close,if not the same as the 800. very nice, very nice. lock up is good (of course ;)) and fit and finish is awesome, too.

i think im in love.

The only changes that I can find from the most recent 800 to the 804 is the opening hole. Everything I have seen is the same.

The 806 has thicker SS liners compared to the Ti liners of the 800 or 804.

You've pretty much nailed the chnages in the various AFCK's I am aware of. Do a search here for the AFCK changes. We have had a few discussions about them.

I have found a rather easy way to help with any side play. Bm uses a large washer on one side and a very small washer on the other. I bought some larger washers from Koval's and replaced all of the small washers on my 800's and 804's. No hint of side to side play what so ever. This also helped with smoothing up the action.
