my buddy just gave me a mini ambush and im wondering about the rolling lock.

first all it looks like a little wire is part of the lock and im wondering if im flipping it constantly is there a risk of the wire breaking??

and second, i heard that there is a way to stop the indraft system is that true?

im really worried about the little wire on the rolling lock, im playing with this knife a lot and i dont want to risk snappage

thanks in advance

The little wire you see in the lock is the Omega Spring (Benchmade's standard spring) that holds the lock in place. The spring might rust and brake over the years, but flicking won't affect the lock up. The stop pin might wear out a bit (blade play), but that's all. This lock is one of the most reliable I've ever seen.

The Indraft is not so good imo. It's way too strong and I don't like the little kick it gives to the blade when I open the knife. You can adjust the Indraft by simply filing off a bit of the liner, no big deal, my knife opened much smoother after 30 minutes of work.

The member Neo of the german messerforum.de posted some pictures of the Indraft-liner that might help you.

thats for that link man

this is my first benchmade and i dont think the lock is that bad, just requires a little extra of a flick but it still opens fast.

its a very nice knife
