BM Ares question

I just purchased a BM Ares black coated 154 cm online from sooner state knives. The picture they have of the knife shows it with a gold butterfly BM logo. On other 732 models, this emblem appears to be silver. I've seen the D2 models with a golden butterfly, but mine is 154 cm steel. My question is: is there any reason for a gold verses a silver butterfly or is BM just kinda random about that? Here's a link to the site. Any help is appreciated. I'm new here and learned a lot from you guys while researching what knife to purchase, so thanks.

Can't really help you on this one.

Apparently no one else can either.

Therefore, you might wish to go on over to Benchmades site and join their form to ask this question.

I wouldn't mind knowing the answer.

Good wishes.

I don't think Benchmade ever uses gold logos. I've never seen them and I've owned a LOT of Benchmade's and seen many others.

the older production on my nimravus all have gold logos. maybe it's an older production that the dealer dug up in the closet. older production (in my opinion) are better.:p

Most likely the color balance. If you look at the pictures the color balance is on the warm side. The black blades have much more of a yellowish/orangish tint than blue/cyan. So that said instead of the logo being white, or silver, it's looking yellowish/goldish.
