I've been looking at Benchmade's site, and I can't seem to find a current model with a blade close to or less than 2.5" long. Even the mini-Grip has a 2.9" blade.

What I'm really looking for is and Axis lock knife designed to be legally usable in <2.5" legal jurisdictions, but with at least 154CM steel. One that is currently in production that way, too, so that it is easy to replace if need be.

Try checking out the 240 Axial. Originally a Lone Wolf design, but Benchmade bought the rights, so it falls under their name. It is 2.37 inches and 154CM, not a bad looking gentlemens knife either. i know it isn't axis, but it is still pretty nice

Well, the reason I want an axis lock is so that the knife uses the same motion to open and close it with either hand, just mirrored. Also, the axis lock knives use thumbstuds for opening, which my muscle memory is quite familiar with.

Are Paul lock knives symmetrical in that sense, and are they as easy to open and close one-handed with either hand as a thumbstud+axis knife?
