This has been a good knife week for me. Added a Swamp Rat Rat Trap, a Spyderco 80mm Manix, and a Benchmade D2 Mini-Grip from Cabela's. Each is terrific in its own right. Here are a couple photos of the Mini-Grip...

yeah, ive seen it on the site, but if i go look at it, i can walk out with it that day :D

I just ordered one of the d2's today myself , except I got the olive color . Great pic ! :)

The D2 Mini-Grip is one of my favorite EDC's. I reprofiled it on my Edge Pro with finished bevel around 30 degrees. Using the polishing tapes it has a striking mirror like edge which contrasts very nicely with the black blade.

The Cabela's D2 Minigrip is IMHO, very close to the perfect EDC. Also has aluminum scales, not plastic. I like mine.

Are you sure about the scales being aluminum? That's the first I've heard of that. Mine seem the same as those on my standard mini-grip I bought for my son a few months ago.

Got mine in today , damn I cant believe how sharp this thing is . I see what yall mean about BM being addictive , lol . I want the full size one now .

Very nice pic's RS2. Thanks for posting. Today, I have my olive drab Cabelas D2 mini-grip with me.

After a couple of years, mine only shows some wear on the clip, and on the black blade coating, but is still in great condition.

I think this goes to show, how well that "plastic" handle holds up over time.

Travis - congratulations! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I'm enjoying mine. As I learned with my BM806, that D2 blade can be seriously sharp. I stropped my new grip on the back of a legal pad, which made the edge a bit smoother.

Thanks Fishwatcher, I'm glad you liked the photos. Sounds like I can expect my grip to hold up pretty well, despite those "cheap" plastic handles:)

I really am happy with mine , thank all of you who recommended this knife . I had tried a regular mini grip at bass pro a few months back and was not that thrilled with it but this D2 model is alot diff . :)

hmm i may just order a d2 mini grip online and save myself the 40mile drive

You won't be sorry. Now that I have the mini, I'm trying to fight off the urge to order a full size D2 Grip.

I've been packing my D2 minigrip for over a year now. Didn't seem very sharp from the factory, but it didn't dull much with use. That is until My GF borrowed it one day in the garage of my new house to break down some moving boxes. She went thru the cardboard and swiped the concrete floor with it. Well, that dulled it! Only took a minute or so on the sharpmaker and it was sharper than before. Still is. That was August.
