I hear that the NMFBM LE is the best of the Busse choppers right? Its considered better than the FFBM. Is this because the FFBM is so thick or that the LE is longer?

LE=limited edition double cut finish, there are NMFBM cheaper with the coating.....an LE will be $800ish! That a pricey chopper!
The nuclear is a longer knife then the FFBM. I not sure about the weight...which would play a factor. You cant go wrong with a NMFBM for a chopper!

i think that it is kind of hard to label one better than the other.....it is all subjective......that which fits one person might not fit the same to another......

the nmfbmle has all the characteristics to be a great chopper......weight, balance, convex edge, dehorned surfaces, etc.....

however, for me, it is a bit too heavy.....the first few chops are killer, then as i get more fatigued, it becomes less and less effective in its role as a chopper.......

to me, the perfect chopper is my 2008 Special Edition FBM......

it is .27" thick, so while it is thicker than a CG, it is thinner than an FFBM......also, the CG and FFBM are both sabre ground, while my 2008 FBM SE is fully flat ground......this makes my 2008 SE really quick in the hand.......

no one really talks about the 2008 SE FBM, but i think it is one of the best user BM's out there.......its combination of weight, thickness, blade geometry, and balance makes it the best chopper for me.......

funny thing is, everyone who got one must really love them as i rarely see them for resale.......

it is the one on the bottom.......

nmfbm was heavy for me as well! FBMLE or any convex CG battle mistress! if were not gonna talk about SH knives!!

Count me into the NMFBM being too heavy. I can just FEEL the strain on my wrist with a couple of air-chops. It is a COOL design, but too long for me. Gimme a CGFBM. (I found the FBMLE a smidge too clunky. Plus for the price, I couldn't justify keeping it.)

And yeah, don't mention SH. Or ZTBM's. Lighter is sometimes better.

I was thinking about having my FFBM convexed a bit. There is a local shop that does a great job.

Yep. I picked up the Skinney Ash right after the former owner had it more convexed than it was. Very sharp. Here is the gang with an 11.5 inch fighter I had made years ago.
