My 910BT is having some rattling problems. When the knife is open, there is no presure on the closed position (rear) stop pin. And it seems to slide back and forth making this rattling noise. Is this normal? If not, how to fix it?

Thats odd. My guess is that maybe the liner is not long enough to push the back of the blade into the stop pin.

Are you sure the play isn't caused by the liner and not the pin? I've never heard of play being caused by the stop pin.

C. Chang,

...And just "the other day" you were telling me how GREAT your Benchmade knife WAS, compared to my Spyderco...

I DO hope that you get it figured-out, and fixed, 'tho, as a "busted" knife is NOT a good thing.

Nah, it aint busted. Just got it back from Benchmade warranty department. The knife is fine, just I want to make a personal little tweak to it, because at the moment, there is a little midget rattle snake hiding inside the rear (close position) stop pin.

Well it's confusing. There are two pins. One in the front of the knife held in my two screws. This one is what sandwiches the knife tang between the liner lock and itself and keeps it locked open. The one causing trouble is what stops the blade when you're closing it. It, by design flaw has no screws to secure it, so it seems to rattle a little bit.

C. Chang,

Just dump about 1/2 tube of "Superglue" inside where you hear that "rattle-snake", and that should solve your noise problem.
