BM Custom Mini Crooked River

Just picked up from a dealer here in Canada. It’s really a nice piece, great ergonomics and classic refined looks. Jade G10 with silver bolster and 20CV blade. Problem is, the action sucks. Like really bad. To get acceptable horizontal blade play it’s nearly impossible to open even 2 handed. I know it’ll break in somewhat but I pulled out an old mini grip that I had before I knew what a knife was. Same issue. Is this the norm for Benchmade or should I be sending it back?

I know BM custom division pays more attention to detail, I would contact BM and send it back, dont mess with it, you should not get a knife and wait for it to ‘break in”, it should come flawless

And the lock stick. My god. I know knives aren’t toys but any flicking action whatsoever and she ain’t coming loose without some serious effort. Too bad. It’s a thing of beauty otherwise.
